Tomography (Panoramic)
Accurate diagnosis is the foundation of successful dental treatment. At Dental Options Dental Clinic in Kyrenia, our state-of-the-art digital panoramic and 3D tomography (CBCT) systems allow detailed visualization of the teeth, jawbone, and surrounding structures. This enables us to provide safer, faster, and more precise treatment planning for our patients.
What Is Tomography (Panoramic X-Ray)?
A panoramic X-ray is a wide-angle digital imaging technique that captures all teeth, jawbones, sinuses, and joints in a single image.
The more advanced 3D cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) provides three-dimensional images, giving the dentist millimetric accuracy.
These technologies are used for a wide variety of purposes, including implant planning, impacted tooth detection, TMJ (jaw joint) evaluation, cyst and infection analysis, and more.
How Is the Tomography Taken?
- Preparation: The patient is positioned correctly in front of the X-ray device.
- Imaging: As the device rotates around the head, the teeth and jaw are scanned in detail.
- Quick Results: The scan takes only 10–20 seconds, and the images are instantly available in digital format.
- Evaluation: The dentist analyzes the images to create an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
The procedure is painless, has very low radiation exposure, and is safe for anyone who is not pregnant.
